Sunday and costumes

Sorry the words are at the bottom of the post I really don't know how to move them up so this is what we get. So this is sort of a random post, its got some of the kids in their new Sunday clothes and some Halloween but not all. I have taken a lot of pictures lately and we have had a lot of fun so if I am on top of things I will hopefully post a couple more times in the near future and get the rest of the Halloween pics up.

Desk Model

So the most exciting thing has happened... We finally got an ARMOIRE and it is so beautiful!! For the last little while I have been bugging Nathan about getting an armoire because I hate all of the clutter the computer collects and I wanted to be able to close it away, also Isaac my wonderful child who is very inquisitive has been getting into things on the computer, like turning on and off the internet and pulling all of the weights out of the mouse.

I have been looking on craigslist and walmart and not finding anything too grand but than Jen found this one at DI for 40 dollars and it was perfect. Anyway we got it yesterday and we were going to sell our old desk so I got the camera out to take pictures and Zoie came over and started posing which is strange because she hates having her picture taken. I wanted to post these pictures cause they are so cute!!

Also you may want to note the amazingly awesome Lavender plant of love that is on the self. My wonderful husband got for me on the last day of the farmers market. What a sweetie!

Summer

Its finally the summer break for Nathan and we are sure enjoying having him home. Scarsly a day goes buy without some sort of exciting adventure. In the last week we have gone Frisbee golfing and swimming and hiking and driving all around, what fun. Over this summer so far we have gotten to see much of my family. My mom came out in June for my Aunts wedding and than stayed with us for another week. We were able to take her to Yellowstone and some of these pictures are from that trip. than my dad came out to pick up my sister Allison from school and we went to Yellowstone again and that is some of the Yellowstone pictures also. We have really enjoyed having them come out and visit although my dads visit was sort of bittersweet because he took Allison home and she doesn't know if she will be coming back.

On another note Nathan is done with his summer semester like I said before and we are really having fun during the six week break and although I wish that it would never end because I know that when school starts up again Nathan will be gone from 9:30am to about 9 pm, I also wish that it would start so that we could get done. Nathan has two semesters left, can you believe it!! We will be graduating in April of next year, I am kinda scared but also really excited.

Zoie and Isaac are getting really big, Isaac is turning two in about three weeks and Zoie is three and a half, she is already planning her birthday list and here is what is on it

Zoies list

I-pod touch-purple,
a bed as big as mom and dads,
a car (she will drive and buckle me into the back she said)

these are the things I can remember now but wow, she is setting her sites high, we will have to see what she actually gets, hopefully she is not too disappointed. I asked her what we should get for Isaac and she said "some toy cars" she is a funny girl. Isaac will be starting toddler lab in about a month and I think that will be really fun for him.

As for me I have been working on the farmers market and my Etsy shop and spending lots of time with Zoie and Isaac at the park and on walks and have been having fun doing it. It has been a great learning experience and it has been so fun to spend time with friends and family.

This is from our first Yellowstone trip this summer

Isaac treed a squirl
This was when my dad came out with my brother Scott. and down below is the fire day. I have seen big fires from a distance but this one was close, it was started at the INL and the winds were so strong that it blew the smoke all the way to rexburg. It turned the sky dark and orange it was really cool to see. Luckily it mostly only burned desert.

Cooking and Mesa Falls

On Saturday we decided to take a family drive up to Mesa Falls. It was overcast and a little rainy but the area was still beautiful. These first few pictures are just some unique things that I saw while we were there. Can you guess what this first one is?Bark Bark Bark, really cool bark!!
In this picture I was trying to capture the dew on the plant.
This was just cool I thought, the little plant poking out from under the walkway.

The kids loved to see the water and hear the great roar as it fell over the beautiful water fall.

There were a lot of pathways and stairs and so Nathan and I made sure we held on tight to the kids. With Isaac we grabbed both hands and swung him up and down the stairs than when I was just holding onto him he still wanted to fly up and down the stairs and almost pulled me down them.

Isn't that just great, the sun would just peek out for a second but it was just long enough to catch this rainbow in the waterfall.

I have been busy making more things for the farmers market and here is a new pair of earrings that I made out of rosewood. they are lite and super cute at least I think so.
The other day I was making dinner and Zoie and Isaac discovered that they could get the food buckets out and push them over to the counter. They did this and decided to help me cook.
I dont know how much helping Isaac did but he sure enjoyed eating the broccoli that was sticking out of the water in the pan.
Zoie is a little more helpfull although she does grab food while Im not looking also. If I have something that needs to be stired she will stand there and stir for a while. She has also decided that doing the dishes is fun (usually I rince them first and than she does it again) I hope that she continues to love to help all through her life.
Zoie cooking rice, she tried some uncooked and didn't like it that much.

Dead Fish

So If you have been over to our house at all in the last 5 months you have probably seen our cute little goldfish. Zoie and Isaac love the goldfish and while we are eating dinner Zoie will usually ask to hold it. Anyway over the last year and a half or so we have had this fish and recently it has been acting sort of crazy. It will spend days swimming upside down and even swim in loops and twists. I think that it was just getting to the end of the gold fish lifespan. So a few days ago he took a turn for the worst and would just lay at the bottom of the tank, I didn't think much of it cause he has done that before. Today was different though, we finally had to lay him to rest in the big toilet bowl in the sky.

I went to clean the Beta fish tank and noticed that the gold fish was dead. Zoie was in the kitchen with me and watched as I got the fish out. I took it into the bathroom and when Zoie noticed what I planned she got really upset. I dropped the fish into the toilet and Zoie started screaming "NOOOO DON'T FLUSH THE TOILET" as the fish settled to the bottom. It was heartbreaking and so I took Zoie into the living room to have a chat. We tried to explain that the fish had died but that didn't work so we told her that he was like Nemo and needed to go to the ocean. This calmed her a little but she was still sad. Nathan took her into the bathroom and we all said our farewells to the goldfish, than Nathan pulled the plug. It was a somber occasion in the bathroom this morning. After the flushing Nathan asked "Zoie, do you need to go pottie" to which she replied "NO" in a horrified tone, no doubt thinking of going potty on our recently deceased fishy friend. It is still up in the air as to whether she will ever use our toilet again.

Walking and playing

Man I am bad at putting up new posts, Its been months I think, anyway so last week I took the kids on a walk to the nature park cause it has been actually warm enough to go out lately and we saw this in the pond, I thought it was pretty cool, though only in Rexburg right?
A lot of my pictures are just scenery cause I have been playing around with settings on my camera. I also just discovered a new wed site, Picnic.com where you can edit your photos. it is really user friendly and I love what can be done. The header picture with Nathan and I was edited on Picnic.com. Fun fun
I just had to put this one in. Jen and I took the kids out to play in the winter wonderland a couple weeks ago and we were at the big pine in between the complex buildings and the kids were having fun, I think this is my favorite pic though. That's Maddie eating snow and Isaac watching.
More playing in the snow

This is one at Zoies birthday with her cousin Omni

Here is another edited photo of Zoie and Isaac helping make brownies!
