We made another trek to Widby Island this past Saturday with our good friends Cassie and Scott. We were so blessed that they got a job here so close to us so that we could go on adventures!
This first part is at Deception pass..
And here is where we went to Fort Casey

Sunbeams
So you know how in Africa there are many wild animals, right? and the unwritten law of the jungle is survival of the fittest? Well folks I am here to tell you that yesterday I experienced it right here just north of Seattle.
Earlier in the week I was called to be a helper in primary and so on Sunday I entered the unknown jungle of sunbeams. I am a helper of little Isaacs class and as the chairs surrounding Isaac and I were slowly filled with the other boys of the sunbeam class I thought to myself "I can do this".
Sharing time started and that is when the excitement began. the little boys so quiet and well behaved at the beginning started to fidget. Fidgeting turned into squirming and in one little boys case to dodging the teacher while running circles around the room.
It was on, who would prevail? As the other teacher and I tried to contain the growing restlessness and frustration grew, it truly was survival of the fittest. In the end we decided to cut our losses and take the little boys to the classroom. Upon arriving we acquired a secret weapon! A parachute with gold was lowered into our exhausted hands. We had finally received something that would tame the wild natures of these 3 year old boys!
PRETZELS!!!!
They came like a blessing from above! And soon all that could be heard was the munching of satisfied children. After that the day much improved and we were able to send the happy children home to their loving families.

Sounds Fishy
The story I am about to tell you has a tragic ending though restitution was paid in the end. Read at your own risk.
Tuesday is play group day and today stared out like any other at play group. We got there and the kids ran gleefully off to play with their friends while us moms had some much needed mommy chat time. We had been there about an hour when one of their house hold went missing. The kids searched high and low but to no avail. When described the missing was said to have been scaly, slimy and wet (although the wet was now in question) and so a sketch was drawn up. When seen from all angles it was apparent that the missing was indeed a fish. Many scenarios were brought up, some thought that the fish had jumped the gun, or in this case the tank, and committed fishie-side, others thought there was fouler work afoot. When the evidence was gathered we had water on the floor by the tank, a little boy named Isaac with a wet shirt and some spilled food. After analyzing all of the evidence and talking to witnesses the conclusion was drawn that perhaps one little boy in a wet shirt could shed some light on the whereabouts of the missing. Isaac was brought to the table and after much questioning, confessed. The little fish had in fact been flushed down the toilet to the ocean to battle sharks and hop jellyfish in accordance to the documentary entitled Finding Nemo.
We now knew that the family beta was taking a long journey to the ocean according to Isaac. Alas as with many stories the ocean wasn't at the end of this tunnel and we had to explain to Isaac that he had flushed the fish to his death. In restitution Isaac was required to pay for a new fish for his friend and took out a loan with Mom.
The moral of this story is keep your fishies close and your little boys closer.
