Our trip to Utah

These pictures are from our fun little trip to Utah this past weekend. We had so much fun. We left Friday after Nathan got off work and headed down, when we hit about Pocatello we noticed Zoie didn't look so good and by Laten she had a fever. we got her some medicine and worked with her to get here feeling better. That first night we stayed with my grandpa Nixon and grandma D, we had fun staying up late and playing cards.
The next day we went to hogle Zoo and Zoie had so much fun. We met Jeff at the zoo and he came with us. We saw monkeys and lions and Zebras. It was such fun, than that night we stayed with Jeff and Mark and had a good time admiring their nice new home.
Sunday we started to head for home. on our way we were going to stop at Aunt Christines home and we were really glad we did cause Zoie got sick all over herself in the car and Isaac came down with a fever. We cleaned Zoie up and stayed to talk and have lunch before we left. After that we headed for home. What a fun weekend we had.

Fun drive

Sorry about two posts in ten min, but I am falling behind and had to get these up also. So we went to Island park last week for a drive and I think that we picked the grayest day ever. These are pictures of the fish hatchery at Henry's lake.
This pic got Zoie, Isaac and Nathan walking by the ladder where the fish were jumpping up to spawn.
It was still winter up here, the lake was still frozen and we couldnt even see out on the water that far because of how gray everything was

EASTER

At our complex we had an easter egg hunt and a lot of the little kids were there there, it was fun to watch them hunt for eggs

The friday before easter we went to our friends the Englishes apartment and died eggs with them, this is what they looked like

we had a wax crayon and when you colored an egg and than died it the wax part would stay white

My tribute to good deeds

Today I took Zoie and Isaac on a bike ride to the store, on our way we had to cross a busy street and I pulled over to walk my bike across the cross walk. As I started to cross a truck started to pull across the road also, I looked past this truck and could see cars coming toward us. It was just after this that I noticed that this truck wasn't pulling past me, it was driving right along with me as I walked. This touched me with the kindness of the act, a few pedestrians have been hit recently in crosswalks in rexburg and this kind truck driver was driving along beside me so that in the off chance one of the cars coming didn't see us we would still be safe. It was a small act but it meant a lot to me.
After crossing this street we got to the store and I got Zoie and Isaac out of the bike trailer and took them into the store. As I did this Zoie started screaming and crying and I didn't know why, I was caring Isaac and so sort of pulled Zoie along to get her into the store with me. That's when I actually paused to listen to what she was saying, "Pacifier, Pacifier" I looked out the window of the store and say the pacifier laying in the parking lot. I felt bad for ignoring Zoie and was glad that she cared so much for Isaac and his things. I let her go out and she got it and came back and was happy. Thanks Zoie.
After these things happened today I got to thinking about all of the good deeds I see every day and how grateful I am for good people. So thanks all you good deed doers!

The Cheese Grater

Have you ever heard the term, "My sweat and blood went into that" what does this mean? I Recently had a run in with a cheese grater that may explain everything.

Meet the cheese grater, what a seemingly innocent tool, but any who have spent time with this know its more sinister side (or all sides depending how you look at it). Today I was making dinner, just calmly grating cheese when I slipped for an instant and grated my knuckle, I quickly got a bandage and covered my cut but I knew that the sinister cheese grater had struck again. I also knew this was not to be the first nor the last tussle with the infamous cheese grater. So be careful the next time you are handling this nefarious tool, lest the cheese grater strike again!

Funnie Kids

Having children has been such a blessing in my life. Zoie and Isaac bring so much joy into our home. I have been thinking of all of the funny things that happen in my life because of them. When I first had my baby I pictured spooning heaping spoon fulls into happy mouths, what I didn't realize is that babies flail around and so we still have the happy mouths but the happy mouths are covered in cereal as are the walls and the floor and me. My hand gets whacked away at least once a meal and I end up with globs of cereal all over. Combine that with a baby who loves to blow raspberries (don't ask me why it is called that) and its no wonder I cant see out of my glasses by the time dinner is over.

Another funny part of being a parent is this. I don't know why but Zoie has recently decided that its sleep free or bust. What you see here was a regular occurrence until we started having accidents in the bed and I ran out of clean sheets. to make clear what happened, Zoie would go to bed clothed and come out like this. So I decided to get smart, I put her to bed the next day in a onesie, when I went into get her up she had her pants off and her diaper off with her onsie still buttoned, talk about a little Houdini. We than decided to take more drastic measures, Zoie than started going to bed with the onsies buttoned over her pants, or her swimming suit on if no onsies could be found. So far we have won the battle but I doubt we have won the war.

Next we have Carrot Boy! Who is this hero of the night you ask, we are still trying to figure it out ourselves. At breakfast one day Zoie started talking about Carrot Boy, we didn't know where that came from but now we think that it has to do with Veggie tales but other than that we don't know. I love hearing things like this though, I wrote about happy cake last time and it makes me smile each time Zoie sayes something like this.

Here is a Movie of Zoie coloring with her toes and Isaac smiling for the camera.
